If you have ever practiced the internal art of taijiquan with us before, much has changed. We have finally made a home in our new center. Perhaps you remember our days of practicing in a tiny room with chairs pushed aside, or in the hotel bar(!), or perhaps outdoors in bad weather because we had no other space. Our new center was remodeled by our own members. It fits us well.
To celebrate, we are throwing a Grand Opening party on April 20, 2008 at 11:30am. The map is to the right, called "Map to Apachce Center." We hope you can come. There will be a Chinese Lion Dance, a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, a Jai Banquet (a traditional, vegetarian meal), and some entertainment. You’re welcome to bring your family and friends.
But you don’t have to wait until then to visit. We have new classes starting each month. Our group has grown to eight active instructors and we are working toward having classes each day of the week. Soon, we will announce our first satellite class, which will be just north of the 202 in North Scottsdale.
We recently acquired a full-time space, which our own members remodeled. To celebrate, we are throwing this Grand Opening. We hope you or your representative can attend. We will have a Chinese Lion Dance, a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, a Jai Banquet (a traditional, vegetarian meal), and some entertainment.
Our group has recently grown to eight accredited, volunteer instructors. We offer classes five days each week. In March, we will start our first satellite class, which will be just north of the 202 in North Scottsdale.
We have four aims and objectives. First, we make the internal art of taijiquan available to all. Second, we promote the health improving aspects of the art. Third, we promote cultural exchange. Finally, we help others.
The International Taoist Tai Chi Society is a non-profit, charitable organization founded by Master Moy Lin-shin in 1970. This world-wide organization grows as its accredited, volunteer members move around the world. Our local group began in 2003 and has taught over 300 people in the Greater Phoenix area. World-wide we have over 300 locations.
